Professional Violinist
TANG HIN WAH

Tang Hin Wah graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and London College of Music majoring in violin performance. Tang was awarded the Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (L.R.S.M.) Diploma, the Fellowship of the Trinity College, London Diploma (F.T.C.L.) as well as the Fellowship of the London College of Music (F.L.C.M.) Diploma. He is the winner of several scholarships including Birmingham Conservatoire’s Annual Scholarship, London College of Music Entrance Scholarship and so forth.
In 2010, Tang was awarded a scholarship to further his studies with Dr. Rimma Sushanskaya who is the last student of the legendary David Oistrakh. Upon his return to Hong Kong, Tang continues his studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and graduated with all excellent results. After received a Master of Arts degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Tang received another scholarship to pursue his Master of Music in Violin Performance at the prestigious London College of Music. Tang graduates with distinction, a higher distinction was given to his final recital.
Tang is an active solo violin player, he was invited as the soloist to perform the Saint Saens’s Violin Concerto in B minor with the Chinese University of Hong Kong Chung Chi Orchestra. Recently, Tang was invited by the Macau Military Club to perform solo pieces from A. Piazzolla to N. Paganini. In 2013, Tang won a special prize in the 2nd Japan-Hong Kong International Music Competition Professional Category and was invited to represent Hong Kong to participate in the final round of the 14th Osaka International Music Competition. In 2015, Tang was invited by the renowned film composer Day Tai to record the solo violin part of the movie "She remembers, He Forgets" directed by Adam Wong Sau Ping. The film song "We Almost Fly" was awarded the best original film song in the 35th Hong Kong Film Awards.
Apart from solo performance, Tang has also participated in numerous orchestras and held many important posts, such as the founding member of the Hong Kong String Orchestra, concertmaster of the CUHK Chung Chi Orchestra, concertmaster of Baroque Society, guest concertmaster of the Hong Kong Elite Chamber Orchestra and so forth. Recently, Tang was invited by the RTHK Radio 4 to perform in their broadcasting show and have been working as a guest violinist in the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong as well as the Macao Orchestra.
Besides performing, Tang also keen on teaching. In 2005, Tang was invited by the Hong Kong Institute of Education as a consultant to provide professional opinions for their School of Continuing and Professional Education. Over the years, Tang has been invited to provide professional teaching service to many local and international schools, including Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School, Chinese International School, St Clare's Primary School, St Clare's Girls's School and so forth. In 2016, Tang was appointed as the senior orchestra conductor and violin tutor of the renowned UK International School (Located in Tuen Mun). Furthermore, Tang is often interviewed as a music educator by different media such as TVB, RTHK and so forth. Lately, Tang was invited by the RTHK to record the Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D major excerpt. Over the years, Tang has successfully helped numerous students to got music scholarships and gain admission to various prestigious music schools, including Yuhudi Menuhin School (U.K.), Purcell School of Music (U.K.), tBerklee College of Music (U.S.), Hong Kong Academy for Performance Arts and so on.
Apart from playing serious music, Tang has been invited to perform with many renowned pop artists such as Yoshiki @ X Japan, IL DIVO, Jacky Cheung, Eason Chan, Joey Yung, Gareth T., Endy Chow, Kay Tse, Alan Tam, Aaron Kwok, Andy Lau, Mariam Yeung, Sammi Cheng, Paula Tsui, Harris Ho, Chiu Tsang Hei, Alan Tsui, Chris Babida, Kit Chan, George Lam, Joseph Koo and more.
